Finally finished Molly's Christmas sweater! It was a ton of fun and a real challenge to knit. Now the real question is... Will she wear it? I made it a bit big so that she can wear it longer. So we'll see...

We had a great time at My Toy Garden last night knitting! Everyone did a great job! Just in time for all of our snow this afternoon... Actually, we had so much fun - we added another class! Next Learn to Knit class will be on Feb. 28 from 5 - 7 pm. Just stop by My Toy Garden or call them up to register. We will be starting a cute cowl. Picture is on the classes tab. We had a couple of left handed girls learning to knit last night. I found this cute Youtube video on how to knit left handed. Check it out! :) My Learn to Knit class has sold out! Lucky for you we added spots, so if you are interested in learning how to knit - now is your chance! Knitting is a great way to get through the next polar vortex and you will have a great new cowl to keep you warm! The class is this Friday at 5:00pm until 7:00 pm. It is $17.50 per person and I will supply all the materials. Just stop by the store or call them up at My Toy Garden and they will sign you up. I had hoped to have all my Christmas knitting done by Christmas, but, well... I must have lost my mind! What made me think that I could knit a girls sweater and a toy for my son in one month? And work, sleep, eat... Anyway, I got Cuddles the monster toy done for my son with a couple of days to spare before Christmas. My daughter got a barely started sweater and several balls of yarn. She was super cool about it and is ok with waiting a bit longer for the sweater. I do hope to have it done by February. That should be totally doable!
I had a blast making Cuddles for my son! We got a book called "Toys in Space" by Mini Grey and Cuddles is one of the main characters. My son loves this book and the more times I read it - I knew that Cuddles needed to come and live at my house. (And soon - I'll have the pattern posted so that he can come live at your house, too!). He was a hit Christmas morning and is now one of the preferred night time toys. Now, back to knitting that sweater.... He smokes, drinks and tends to leave on adventures... He is a bad hobbit with bad habits! From his curly hair to his hairy toes, he is mister personality in the shire. I have been a bit busy lately designing my bad hobbit. He was so fun to make and has so much personality! I am working on the knitting pattern right now and should have it available soon.... Give the gift of knitting! Stop by My Toy Garden and buy your loved one a spot in my knitting class. For $17.50, they will get a spot in the class plus a cute little Christmas stocking ornament! The knitting class is on January 17, 5 -7 pm at My Toy Garden. This gift never gathers dust or adds to clutter in the house! Plus, it is super fun! Sign up today! Sometimes life gets in the way... I have to reschedule the Knitting 102: Easy Fit Ribbed Hat from November 14 to November 12 at 6:00 - 9:00 pm. I hope to see you there! This is a great hat! In this class, we are going to learn how to purl and to use knit and purl stitches to create a rib stitch pattern. It is a quick knit and a great Christmas gift! By knitting it a sweater, of course!! New class coming to Joann's in Greenbriar in December! Sweater Tree Ornament. You will learn how to knit this adorable sweater on December 3 at 6:30 - 9:00 pm. The techniques I will teach are knitting in the round, knitting a sweater from the top down, increasing stitches, and picking up stitches. Basically a sweater only really, really small! Just call 317-259-4506 or stop by to sign up! |
