The Animation Musuem was a total hit with the family! Miles and Casey had so much fun posing with the different characters and Molly loved the animation room. It had several computers to do computer animation and light boxes for tracing pictures. We spent a long time there and had a blast! It was also a nice sit down time for Mommy - still feeling a bit jet lagged....
We headed out on Friday and made a happy discovery in finding Ogikubohachiman Shrine. The is a Shinto shrine that is located across the street from the Animation Museum. It was really beautiful and peaceful place not too far from our apartment. Only about a 15 minute walk.
We headed out to Shinjuku today and did more shopping. We were looking for the Disney store because Molly is on a Tsum Tsum hunt. Her wildest dreams come true - a large Donald Tsum Tsum. She has been one happy camper! Miles also got 3 little tsum tsums: Donald duck, Chestshire Cat and Olaf the snowman. We found house slippers that fit both of the kids, Molly's have cats on the toes and Miles are a flip flop style. After walking around we were throughly exhausted and headed back for the apartment. We are having a low key night and heading to bed early.
Here are some pictures of our apartment. To give you a quick tour...
After a long and tiring trip from Indianapolis, we have arrived in Japan! We were exhausted when we got here, but we met our landlord and he showed us to the apartment. It is very cute and bigger than expected. We have settled in here and are enjoying our little slice of Japan. We are in Nishi-Ogikubo on the southwest side of Tokyo. On our first day, we explored the neighborhood and shops. We are really close to the grocery store (and it's 24 hours!) and all sorts of other places. The highlights from the first day is finding the playgrounds, Molly buying a summer kimono (yukata), eating delicious sushi and going shopping!
The first picture is Molly and Miles having fun at the Toronto airport. They had this really cool art installation that echoed when you went through it. The kids had a blast! |
